Algorithms
There is more and more demand for pupils to acquire skills in Computer Science. We need to prepare students with the fundamentals of computational thinking, and the mathematics behind it. This Algorithm resource develops students ability to follow and design algorithms.
Building on a simple understanding of bigger and smaller numbers, pupils begin by creating a sorting algorithm, before applying their skills to a series of challenges. Split over 3 lessons, this resource contains all of the materials required to engage students with the basics of algorithm programming.
Arenas and Events
Arena and Events engages students by applying maths to planning and organising arena events. Pupils will cover a wide range of topics over a series of 6 lessons. By adopting a variety of roles they will cover Area, Perimeter, Volume, Rounding, Translation and Rotation along with a few other strands interwoven to the lesson design.
This resource contains 6 complete lessons worth of plans and resources, ready for you to deliver. There is a huge scope for easy to implement differentiation for your learners and plenty of cross curricular links, too. The sessions can be delivered in one go, or in chunks to suit your curriculum needs.
Nutrition
We all know that we are what we eat. But how do we know what eat and if it will make us gain or lose weight?
The nutrition set of resources allows pupils to create their own menus within healthy guidelines.
Round the World
Ever fancied that round the world air trip?
This set of resources explores the maths behind such an adventure.
Speed Camera Investigation
This resource encourages students to analyse the effectiveness of speed cameras. Students will study maps looking for patterns and analyse graphs in order to draw conclusions.
It is advised that teachers do this module to introduce students to the Speed Camera Investigation topic.
Sporting Decisions
Sporting Decisions engage learners through applying Maths to analyse sport. Pupils will cover a wide range of data-handling techniques over the course of 3 lessons to help them pick a winning team. By adopting the role of club manager, they will also apply fractions and percentages to help their decision making process.

iPhone Challenge
Ever thought about the optimum time to take that upgrade for that shiny new phone? This lesson uses the math to help make that decision. These lessons cover Cumulative Frequency and Inverse Proportion in a way that links the topics to something that may actually be relevant to the pupils everyday life, their phones.
Set the scenario with the video clip below, asking a random stranger if they had ever thought about how to value his phone.
